EAGLE MENTALITY
Exodus 19:3-4
THINKING WITH EAGLE MENTALITY
I. AN EAGLE’S SUCCESS COMES FROM FLYING HIGH WITH CONFIDENCE
Note: You can soar like an eagle easier than you can flap in the breeze. Let the fresh wind of God’s presence lift you higher. (Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.)
Note: In Exodus 3:1-9 God reveals to Moses who He is in signs and wonders. ( The staff turning into a snake and Moses’ hand changing to and from leprosy in an instant.)
Opinion: I don’t believe we should bare witness with our sinful nature and declare it normal to sin. Sin should disturb us to the point of turning from it. Confidence comes from soaring like an eagle in fellowship with God and with the Word living in us.
Illustration: Pursue your potential The Bald Eagle builds the largest nest of any North American bird, up to 4 meters (13 ft) deep, 2.5 meters (8 ft) wide, and one tonne (1.1 tons) in weight. (Now that takes confidence!!!)
CONFIDENCE: In Exodus 4:22-23, God spoke to Moses in regard to the last plague He would impose upon Egypt if Pharaoh would not let the people go after the first plague of the blood. In verse 22-23 God said, “And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn: And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn."
Note: God’s plan has always been to manifest Himself in His people’s personage. Just as the Israelites carried Jesus Christ in their lineage, so we carry Jesus Christ in our bodies through the power of the Holy Ghost.
You are not of this world, so fly above it. Fly high in confidence like the eagle flys above the circumstances of this.
II. AN EAGLE’S THOUGHT PROCESS IS TO STAY ABOVE THE OPPOSITION
Note: An eagle is never a victim. It glides into the field of opposition only to be successful and blessed.
Note: Isaiah tells us this, But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Illustration: Susie and I joined the Y. I met and elliptical (run/climb) machine. The first night it put me in the dirt in 15 minutes. The second night I aced the first 15 and went for twenty. The third night I went for 30 minutes and felt like stopping the whole time. However, when I got home, I opened Isaiah 40-31 and read it. I was refreshed and felt strong because I didn’t get off when I felt like. I also passed up the urge to go to DQ right after the workout. I went to bed with a victorious mindset.
Eagles soar above the opposition. Eagles do not tire out and have to land. They have strength in their wings. Your wings are strong in the Holy Ghost!!! (Don’t let your opposition wear you down.)
III. AN EAGLE INFILTRATES THE ENEMY’S TURF
Note: The eagle infiltrates the enemy’s camp. The enemy does not soar up to steal from the eagle.
The eagle has no predators. It always has dominance over its enemies. (Satan is under your feet!!!)
Remember, you are commissioned to subdue the earth. Push the enemy out of the way. He must move off your turf.
IV. AN EAGLE’S COUNTENANCE IS RECOGNIZED BY GOD
Scripture: In Exodus 19 God commanded Moses to remind the Israelites that He carried them up on eagle’s wings out of Egypt. (God has the eagle’s vantage point to carry you out supernaturally from the curse to the blessing. You just need to spread your wings and fly with the help of the Holy Ghost.
